UPTHEWAZOO was my favorite, and I knew KAMIKAZE (though not exactly how it is spelled) from the clue. I'm pretty sure I've never had a HOTPOT, and probably won't since I don't like the name. ATKINS went right in, and I, too, put "ides" in where DATE goes thinking it was too easy for a Friday, and it was.Huygenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14539030936919012404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7869983234842507044.post-86786784792383517012019-02-02T09:16:50.526-05:002019-02-02T09:16:50.526-05:0018:02
I found this puzzle very tough going. So man...18:02<br />I found this puzzle very tough going. So many excellent QMCs. My biggest problem was the NE. I hobbled myself by putting in lEaPS at 14D: Is overcome with joy, say (WEEPS), and so I couldn't get SHORTSTRAW or even understand what was going on with ICEBOXCAKE. As always, the trick is to take out anything you're not 100% sure of, and work at it again. I absolutely love 56A: Where Delaware and Minnesota have farmers (STATESEALS). So good.Colum Amoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15026647589873845732noreply@blogger.com
