I enjoyed (in addition to those answers listed above by others) TRIPPY (33A Psychedelic), HEINIE and STASIS. I didn't like SPYHOLE or GLISTEN (94D What stars do). Enjoyable Sunday offering since it took a very nice amount of time.Huygenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14539030936919012404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7869983234842507044.post-37895937853300238112016-05-30T10:04:53.051-04:002016-05-30T10:04:53.051-04:00Well, Frances, you're right. Afterwards, I find myself wondering why I didn't pay respects to other entries or clues I enjoyed. It's an imperfect process, I guess.Colum Amoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15026647589873845732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7869983234842507044.post-50609495315048605202016-05-30T07:52:27.602-04:002016-05-30T07:52:27.602-04:00No love for DUNCESWITHWOLVES or GERMSOFENDEARMENT?...No love for DUNCESWITHWOLVES or GERMSOFENDEARMENT?Frances Pagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08474350868613802857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7869983234842507044.post-58881971030416080002016-05-29T21:12:22.769-04:002016-05-29T21:12:22.769-04:00Yeah, the theme answers were pretty wacky, and you...Yeah, the theme answers were pretty wacky, and your suggestion for 1A is great! I hope Mr. Der is reading this.

Never heard of BEL (Volume measure). It seems to be related to decibel. Also new to me is ARHAT (Enlightened Buddhist), and GLACE is pretty obliquely clued with "Like candied apples," and although it's nice to have something other than "atra" for "Gillette razor name," was there really ever a razor just called "TRAC?" or has it always been TRAC II?

On the other hand, I think this is the first time I've seen this particular clue for ALI (U.S. women's soccer star Krieger). No more "Heavyweight poet," as I just recently saw in a puzzle from the 90s.

Didn't love it.
Horace Fawleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04676932991883111336noreply@blogger.com
