I, like Horace, didn't like MAR too much, but since I was able to finish the grid, I enjoyed it overall. The DEWCLAW was new to me, and I'd starred LORELEI for its clever cluing. I agree that SOLEMNER isn't a word that I'd use. As a side note, I tried to print out the .pdf version of this puzzle, but when it set up for printing, many of the clues were cut off at the bottom, so I just printed the regular version.
