PURgE seemed reasonable but PUREE was better.Colum Amoryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15026647589873845732noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7869983234842507044.post-71665650880610598562019-03-16T09:22:38.228-04:002019-03-16T09:22:38.228-04:0035:06

The NE was a real bear for me. I finished the rest of the puzzle in about 13 minutes, but guessed an "m" for the start of DONDELILLO, a person that is completely unknown to me, and so wanted to start DATADUMP with "mAin" as in "mainframe" to give a mAinDUMP, but no. METEOR took me way, way too long, especially since I was staring at M___OR for quite a little while. I assume the LONDONEYE is that Ferris wheel thing like Sue and I rode in Singapore, but the "eye" part of it took a long time for me to get. I eventually figured out BIDET from B_D__, but didn't know the word TREF (24A Like shellfish) since my Yiddish is a bit rusty. Anyway, the NE was TEDIOUS for this solver and, although I'm a frequent listener of old radio on Sirius, I'd never heard of the "LUM and Abner" show. I always liked TANGERINEDREAM, but needed quite a few crosses for that bit of trivia. I'm glad I didn't CRAPOUT on this one.Huygenshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14539030936919012404noreply@blogger.com
